Al-Khiran Pearl City is being developed as a mega residential development and new waterway system along the coast. The first phase more than doubled the area of waterways within the Al-Khiran estuary. This included plans for wetland creation as environmental mitigation and a planting plan for mangroves.

Beckett Rankine prepared conceptual designs for a new 500 berth marina in this development. This formed an essential part of the new ground breaking Al Khiran residential scheme with integrated shoreside, small craft berths and associated boat repair facilities and infrastructure.

The marina comprises floating pontoon berths secured by piles driven into the seabed. Each of the berths is to have a service pillar with running water, electrical and communications. Full support facilities are provided on the adjacent shore base with lift-out, repair and storage facilities available.
