Chatham Dockyard consists of a series of historic wet and dry docks on the River Medway in Southeast UK. These have largely fallen into disuse now that larger ships visit deeper ports further downriver. Urban regeneration is transforming the docks into a residential and commercial centre focusing on the historic features of the dock.

Beckett Rankine inspected docks 6 and 7 to establish their condition prior to refurbishment. Deterioration of concrete piling and superstructure were measured and tested. Recommendations were made for repairs to extend the life of these marine structures.

Nelsons flagship Victory was constructed here in 1765, as were many other significant vessels, until submarine construction and re-fitting ceased in the 1980s. Since the beginning of urban regeneration, there have been 47 scheduled ancient monuments at Chatham Dockyard.
