Gordon Rankine inspects a site for a new LNG terminal on the northern shore of the Yamal peninsular in Arctic Russia. The site is the more remote than any other we have ever worked on. The land is a boggy wilderness and the sea is frozen for nine months of the year; the only practical way to get to the site is a three hour helicopter flight from the nearest road. With the only support facilities several hundred miles away Gordon’s helicopter was carrying more flight crew and mechanics than passengers!
