Rainham Jetty, also known as Coldharbour Jetty, is used to transfer waste from barges to trucks for landfill. Beckett Rankine was asked to carry out inspections and structural analysis of the jetty to understand its load capacity and whether the jetty could be re-used for other purposes. We carried out vessel inspections followed by a dive survey to inform the structural analysis. 

Our findings showed that the existing Cathodic Protection System was significantly damaged and would require repair or replacement. The piles would need some attention to treat or replace corroded sections, as well as ensure those with damage were strengthened to handle the loads.
