Why did you join BR?
Whilst at university in Nottingham, I was able to undertake a ten-week summer placement where I delved into several projects of varying sizes, working with engaging and intelligent colleagues. Having enjoyed my time at the company, on completion of my degree, I came back to start as a full time graduate.

What is your favourite project worked on?
I have worked on several schemes of varying sizes, but to date, my favourite project has been the Barking Riverside Pier. It was great to see the project through from first-stage feasibility all the way through to construction and now operation, working with a global team to deliver this latest passenger pier to the river Thames.

What opportunities do BR offer outside of day-to-day work?
The external and internal training opportunities are great – from practical confined space courses through to construction contract lunch-and-learns, BR has supported me to develop the necessary knowledge for a professional civil engineer.
