Why did you join BR?
I previously worked across a range of sectors for a large engineering consultancy. After developing my skills and becoming chartered, I decided to specialise in the marine sector. Beckett Rankine is a leading company for marine engineering and offers a good balance of design, management and site work.

What is your day-to-day role?
I manage several projects at a time which can all vary in nature. This includes contractual management and site supervision roles, along with design and advisory roles. This means that no day is ever the same; sometimes I am supervising a site on the south coast of England and other days I am in the office undertaking structural and geotechnical design calculations for a retaining wall.

What do you enjoy most about BR?
I mostly enjoy the ‘family feel’ of the business. BR is relatively small compared to competitors which means that everybody in the company knows each other and can contribute ideas or make suggestions. Since joining BR, I have been pleasantly surprised at how much employees are encouraged to develop and try new methods.
