Hythe Pier is reopened by Ted Vaughan, Chairman of the Hythe Ferry Users Group. The pier repairs were carried out in the extremely short time of 6 weeks which included the Christmas period. The contractor for the substructure repairs was Dudley-Barnes Marine while the Hythe Ferry Company carried out the decking and railway reinstatement.
