Shane Carr of Marine Designs Ltd collects a Cornwall Business Award for innovation. The award is in recognition of Marine Designs’ Dockmaster pontoon concept which has been developed with the assistance of Beckett Rankine. The pontoon system uses modular precast concrete sections to encase polystyrene buoyancy so as to form an economic and durable pontoon system.

The Dockmaster concept is particularly suitable for producing large pontoons for superyacht berths. Prototype pontoons measuring 20m x 6m are currently under construction witha variety of smaller pontoons using the same system.
