Spurred on by the emphatic support from London Assembly on 7 September, the wonderful Diamond Jubilee Footbridge model is now on display at the Institution of Civil Engineers’ bridge exhibition. With planning permission already granted this just is another step forward in the steady progress towards implementation.
This model was procured by One World Design and the photos taken by Peter Clarkson. It has been in our office window for several weeks and has attracted considerable attention from passers-by. We are working on this project with One World Design and Expedition Engineering and it does now seem to have a growing level of support.
In the exhibition our model is dwarfed by the 205,000 brick LEGO Severn Bridge replica that is 34m long, with a 16m span and weighs over half a tonne.
