The new 600t shiplift for Mangistau Oblast Boat Yard (MOBY) at Atash Marine Base successfully completed its commissioning tests today (Saturday) by lifting and bringing ashore a barge of maximum weight. This was the second vessel lifted after a 100t tug was brought ashore on Friday. Construction of the boatyard is nearing completion although dredging and paving are still underway as well as fitting out of the workshops. MOBY is a joint venture between Nico International, Topaz Engineering, Kazmortransflot and Balykshi (Caspian Services Inc). The project is part funded by the EBRD and the principal contractor is Almaty based Datoba Construction.
