The North Quay Jetty is located at the Port of Grimsby which is owned and operated by Associated British Ports (ABP). The jetty structure was built in 1932 and is formed of a concrete deck supported by a series of reinforced concrete piles. Under the deck, rectangular concrete beams run in both directions forming a two-way truss.
Working with Marine Designs Ltd, Beckett Rankine was asked to design new pontoon berths for the wind farm vessels as part of EON’s ongoing development of a purpose-built base on the North Quay of Grimsby Fish Dock.
We designed the MK2 Dockmaster pontoons (8.5m long x 6m wide with a long term freeboard of 1.015m) for the gangway, pile guides, bankseat, fuel tank base and Davit crane bases, as well as preparing a design statement, and designers risk assessment.
