What do our engineers think of working here?

Student Internship: “I spent roughly 10 weeks as an intern at Beckett Rankine. The work I participated in was engaging and I gained a large amount of experience. Beckett Rankine is a dynamic workplace; at any one time there was a huge range of different projects being worked on. This meant I was able to work within a number of different engineering specialisations throughout the placement. For example, work on a typical week could involve performing a fatigue analysis on a floating breakwater one day and then the next 3-D printing a connection component on a pier. The variability was great!”

Graduate Engineer: “Despite being relatively new at Beckett Rankine I am involved in all the different aspects of the projects that I work on. This broad experience makes my work much more varied and interesting. Its a friendly place to work and the training is excellent”.

Senior Engineer: “I previously worked for a large engineering company where it was difficult to become fully involved with my clients. As a Project Manager at Beckett Rankine I always feel supported by the Directors whilst being given the freedom to use my own judgement and expertise. It’s a hands on experience which I find very satisfying”.

Principal Engineer: “Each project at Beckett Rankine is unique with its own challenges – from masterplanning the largest LNG port in the world to reviewing mooring collar designs for wind farm O&M pontoons. I am always busy searching out the best solutions to a wide range of maritime problems. Working for a small specialist practice is different and everyone here has influence; as an example one of our student engineers recently came up with an idea for improving our job costing system – we adopted his proposal within a week”.
